By now you know that San Diego Charger defensive tornado and mild steroid abuser Shawne Merriman will completely ignore the rational thinking of trained and experienced medical professionals and play this season despite having no functioning ligaments in his left knee.  It seems a bit precarious at best that a Pro Bowler, on the verge of a big pay day via free agency, would risk his entire career to play for one season, even when the best orthopedic doctors in the country are telling him its not such a great idea.  Surely someone had gotten Merriman’s ear and told him he’s ok to go.  Theres got to be someone telling him to get back out there and rub some dirt on it.  Someone behind the curtain pulling the strings of his puppet pass rushing dynamo…
