A couple things to keep in mind today. This is my first ever live blog and I will have a few drinks in me at all times. My grammar will need to be excused in lieu of speed.
7:53 AM PDT: I am sitting in my boxers in front of the computer waiting for the wife an baby to wake up so I can take a shower and get ready for the day. I am getting little antsy as I have to leave here by 7:35 and pick my buddy up on the way to the bar. I know the wife isn’t going to like it if I wake up her and the baby as she will be taken care of her all day. I don’t have much choice though as it gets closer to the time I have to leave. I guess I could go without a shower but since I will be sitting in a bar all day drinking, I am guaranteed to smell by the afternoon games.
And just to confirm I will be at Bus Stop Sports bar in San Francisco by 9AM if anyone wants to join me. If someone actually reads this and mentions it to me when you come in I will buy you a bucket of beer. Whatever is on special of course.
No real important news to report on the NFL as its week 1 and we pretty much new everyone was going to play.
Alright, baby is up. I will be back in a little while.
8:32 AM PDT: Cab is on its way. The wife brought me coffee and muffins probably so I don’t get buzzed too early. See you at the bar.
9:04 AM PDT: We’re in the bar. We actually got here before it opened. We have a view of 9 TVs and are the only two guys in the bar with laptops.
9:18 AM PDT: Bloody Marys have been ordered and we are ready to go. Some questions I have. Who breaks the first big Touchdown? Who has the first big injury? Is this going to be one of those boring sundays where no one scores a TD for the first 8 minutes? Or is it going to be a Sunday where someone breaks an opening kickoff?
9:31 AM PDT: So far I am starring at 3 Steelers fans and a Seahawks “Fan”. The Seahawks “Fan” actually has a jersey that says “Fan” on the back. If you ask me, that seems pretty gay
9:42 AM PDT: A Chargers fan just showed up. I can’t stand Charger fans. They are the biggest fair weather fans in the nation. I used to live in San Diego. I know this.
9:45 AM PDT: No one has showed up to claim their free beer yet. I can’t understand why. Hahaha!
9:47 AM PDT: The first Jets Fan showed up and of course he is the loudest guy in the bar
9:57 AM PDT: The bar is filling up. Right now I am trying to figure out who will be the most annoying fans.
10:00 AM PDT: And we are off.
10:06: AM PDT: Easy call. Jets fans are going to be the worst
10:08 PM PDT: Matt Ryan impressing early. He thinks he just won the suberbowl.
10:18 PM PDT: Brett Favre bomb. This place is out of control.
10:24 PM PDT: 2 fumbles and an injured QB. The Superbowl loser always has a jinx
10:45 PM PDT: If you have Willie Parker on your fantasy team, immediately trade him. He has already match his TD total from last year. By the way. The Lions have the worst D in the league.
10:53 PM PDT: Maurice Jones Drew not getting that TD was bullshit.
11:04 PM PDT: Brett Favre is the luckiest man alive
11:24 PM PDT: The NFL shop commercial with the Titans Helmet was hilarious.
11:35 PM PDT: Half time. I am a bit bored. Amazingly every game is at halftime. Lets re-acess. The Lions D is terrible, Willie Parker somehow has 2 Tds, Brett Favre is on track to have a huge season, and the Bengals are officially terrible. Look for the Pats to win by more then a TD in the 2nd half.
11:39 PM PDT: Is it just me or did Strahan lose a ton of weight. If I were to retire, I would gain weight. If you want my opinion, steroids is somehow involved.
11:52 PM PDT: NE is a machine. Tom Brady is overrated.
12:16 PM PDT: Kitna with the left hand! He is amazing!
12:46 PM PDT: New England could lose. good bye suicide pools
12:52 PM PDT: So I took Carson Palmer over Romo in a QB heavy league where you start 2 Qbs. As of right now I am an idiot. Hopefully that changes. The bar is getting ridiculous here. People are looking at me and poking fun. I can hear them say “look at the guys with the laptop”. Its all good though.
12:56 PM PDT: Can Chad Pennington do it?
12:58 PM PDT: If Chad does it I will jump up and down.
1:05 PM PDT: Damnit. Favre wins again. In case you didn’t know Chris Young of the Pads is throwing a perfect game.
1:19 PM PDT: Just got back from a SF smoke break. I just realized how much I hate Chargers
1:31 PM PDT: I just realized I am in first place in my Pickem league. I guess I don’t know my players and I just know my teams.
1:42 PM Pdt: Buzz level is way up. Kenny, It didn’t work out. I was just about to write how bad the halfs started out and them my boy Gore broke one off and I was going crazy.
1:46 PM PDT: After that SF Smoke break I just realized I am hungry.
1:53 PM PDT: I think Cleveland just took 10 minutes off the clock.
2:03 PM PDT: 49ers D might be for real this year
2:21 PM PDT: The buzz factor has led to my lack of posting. We just ordered a pizza so hopefully I won’t be hungry anymore. By the way Cowboys Suck, Carolina is solid, and 49ers are legit.
2:35 PM PDT: Cowboys Suck!!!
2:37 PM PDT: Food its on its way. Kurt Warner is a PILE!!
2:42 PM PDT: Are Lebron and TO friends?
2:48 PM PDT: Pizza is here. This has been a long time coming.
3:11 PM PDT: Yes, I was eating pizza this whole time and it was great. The afternoon games are boring. I still don’t understand why the NFL schedules 3 games in the afternoon and a shitload of games in the morning.
3:30 PM PDT: There is nothing better then watching the Chargers lay an egg when you don’t have Ladanian. Last year I had him.
3:49 PM PDT: Chargers fans go crazy on Gates TD. Forget they are still losing.
3:52: PM PDT: Alright, unless something crazy happnes I am checking out. For anyone tha is reading this I thank you. Hopefully I can do this again sometime.

Godspeed, brother.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:34 am
I still think the Jets are aiming too high this season. Sure, Favre might be good, but the rest of the team still has to preform.
September 7th, 2008 at 11:11 am
Favre has a much better chance of getting injured this season. I say its 50/50.
September 7th, 2008 at 11:17 am
How are the Jets aiming too high? The issues that made the team regress from 10 wins to 4 wins were as follows: left guard, right tackle, quarterback, nose tackle. Enter Alan Faneca, Damien Woody, Brett Favre, and Kris Jenkins. The Jets targeted their needs to a tee this offseason, so I’m very excited.

I have never used muffins to help slow a buzz.
Did it work?
September 7th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
We’ll see what happens by 1pm. I doubt it will work.
September 7th, 2008 at 12:52 pm

Bye bye Brady.
September 7th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
How long is Brady out for? How bad is it?
September 7th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
“The team announced Brady had a knee injury and his return was questionable.”
September 7th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
no word yet. People are comparing it to the Trent Green injury a couple of years ago
September 7th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
OMG this is hilarious. I will keep an eye out on your pending buzz all day. When is bloody mary #2 coming? It isn’t even morning any more…
September 7th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
Season over for the Jets. They lost Mike Nugent. Haha
September 7th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
I may disagree. They actually have 3 more points because he is injured
September 7th, 2008 at 2:01 pm
Ahh true statement.
They don’t have a place kicker on the roster now.
September 7th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
Brady officially out for the remainder of the game today.
September 7th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Nugent is back…Don’t believe everything you read, I guess.
September 7th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Kickers are a dime a dozen either way.
September 7th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Where’s Martin Gramatica?
September 7th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
He is probably jumping up and down somewhere.
September 7th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
@Post 23:
I was at that game. One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
September 7th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
What is going on with Seattle? I started their defense over the Steelers…how stupid of me.

September 7th, 2008 at 5:43 pm

Uh-oh.
September 7th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
Hey BeanSlayer….NEVER bet on any San Diego team. You’re clearly not from San Diego, so I’ll offer you my sympathy, and give you a heads up that our SD teams will disappoint every time you expect them to impress.
Cheers,
