Arizona nearly gave up the game to the Dallas Cowboys in the final minutes, but managed to reach overtime. The Cowboys won the toss, but were forced to punt away. As the picture shows, the Cardinals blocked the punt and returned it for a touchdown to win the game.

This Donnie Avery catch was made late in the Washington-St. Louis game. After this catch the Rams committed a 15-yard penalty, but kicker Josh Brown nailed a 49-yard field anyway to notch the first St. Louis victory of 2008.

In the first quarter of the Lions-Vikings game quarterback Dan Orlovsky, making his first start in the place of Jon Kitna, ran out of the back of his own end zone despite there being no pressure. He kept looking for an open receiver despite the referee blowing a whistle. Those two points proved to be the difference as the Vikings prevailed 12-10.
