There are some great games this weekend; Georgia at LSU, Oklahoma State at Texas, Penn State at Ohio State, an intriguing coaching matchup when Ole Miss travels to Arkansas, and even a USC at Arizona battle that looks to draw some looks from across the Nation.
These look to be some of the hardest games to pick according to our good friend Mr. Parody, but what are your picks on these games as well as some of the ones that you have circled on your calendar? Who will come out strutting their stuff the best this weekend? Any chance that Central Florida upsets Tulsa this Sunday?
Let’s hear them, but first, let’s draw your ridicule with our quick picks for the ones listed:
Georgia at LSU - This game will be the most watched game in the SEC. Both of these teams had National Championship hopes coming into the season; Georgia had the stronger case. While both have stumbled, both seem to be hanging around in the BCS race. Someone has to fall this week in Death Valley. LSU is tough at home, but they are beatable. They’re not as strong as they have been in previous years. Georgia pushes its way further in the rankings while LSU slips, falling to the Bulldogs by 7.
Oklahoma State at Texas - Some say that OSU is overrated. Some say that Texas is only undefeated due to the poor officiating in the Oklahoma game. All say that regardless of whatever has happened up to this point, that not even a fired-up Cowboys team can make the trip to Austin without seeing the top of “The Tower” glowing orange when they leave. Longhorns by 18.
Penn State at Ohio State -Question number one: how is Paterno’s leg. Question number two: will it matter? PSU and OSU has the promise of being the most entertaining football game this weekend, both college and pro. Penn State is on the rise while only Wall Street is on more of a decline than Ohio State preventing much of the Nation from noticing. Well, Wall Street and the Wisconsin Badgers. This game is too close to analyze, so we’ll just say that Penn State squeaks out a victory by 6.
Ole Miss at Arkansas - This will definitely be an exciting game between two 3 – 4 teams. More football fans in the Country will care about this game than the naysayers will think. It cannot be ignored that this is Houston Nutt’s return to Donald W. Reynold’s Razorback Stadium. It must also be added that Bobby Petrino will be truly scored for the first time this season. If Arkansas wins critics will say that the right decision was made. If Ole Miss wins Arkansas fans will be disappointed and the cell phone mini-towers in DWR will be overloaded with text messages. Hogs avoid letting the fans anguish in the Southwest corner. Arkansas by 3.
USC at Arizona - For some reason, every time that the Trojans hook up with the Wildcats, a small group of College Football die-hards get excited and get their hopes up for a close, exciting game. As of late, the Wildcats have been letting that group down. Arizona is better than their record indicates, and Oregon State showed that USC can be beat, especially when the Trojans hit the road. As for this weekend, USC does not lose on the road, but Zona does keep it close, falling by 8.
University of Central Florida at Tulsa - Tulsa and their spread offense is RED HOT. Too red hot. Tulsa’s coaching staff has been creating masterpieces since the addition of Gus Malzahn. They’re talented and they’re capable. Central Florida likes to think that they have a chance of stopping Tulsa’s winning streak by outscoring the Hurricane offense. Storm predictions do not look good for George O’Leary’s Golden Knights. Tulsa stays undefeated; this time by 34.
Wow! Wonder why we put Tulsa and UCF in there?
